BB Cricket News

05 02 2005

The BB cricketer's performances were a mix of high's and low's on the weekend as Tooney won 1st innings.

AJ starred with the ball, taking 6-27 off 14 overs, in his first ever opening spell! Ex-captain bjd viewing from the sideline stated after the 6th wicket, "that was amazing!" Steve played his part in the field with 2 run-outs for the day, the second came when he was keeping with Rollo completing the run-out by flicking off the bail. Steve played an important role with the bat in the first innings with a smashing 15 not out, working with the tail. After a first innings total of 120 Tooney fell for 82 in the second, with the only heroic display coming from rollo with a not out! Steve opted to open the batting and fell for a duck. Tooney winning the first innings and the opposition failed to chase the required runs.

Bird continues to impress with the ball for his weekend team. Bird has consistently taken wickets this season and he was rewarded on the weekend with a hat-trick! Well done bird!

Toony Triumphs at Battalion Cornerball Comp!

13 05 2004

In an amazing effort that took just over 10 mins, the Toonie "A" Team blitzed the entire competition (Blacktown Uniting - the only other "legal" team entered on the night) to guarantee their place in this year's State Cornerball Competition. [Blacktown Uniting will also be at state, as the top two teams from battalion make it through - but this is not the point! It was a hard fought victory (8-2!), and we won't mention the Toonie "B" team on the night (although technically illegal due to age) actually beat the "A" team... :) Thanks to all who turned up and had a go - who made it a great night: Jordan, Warren, Samur, Mitch Watson, Mitch Wilson, AJ, John, Mark, Dan, Tim, B2, DaveF, PeteD, SteveD & Houghdy.

Touch Team Triumphs

12 01 2004

The Western Reds were run away winners at the first touch game of 2004. Two days later steve was still limping. Pete was most distraught to learn of the departure of b from the team, although sources close to the team claim "he did nothin". B was unavailable for comment.
